# Charities

{% hint style="info" %}
As of June 9 2021, we have officially signed an MOU with a prominent Thailand charity organization. We will be announcing the exact name of the charity organization right after we launch initial liquidity! Stay tuned!
{% endhint %}

Charities can be considered a backbone of RobinHoodSwap. It is an effort to create something that is not only going to allow users to take part in an all inclusive, exciting and meaningful world of decentralized finance, but in doing so, allow users to contribute back to society.

RobinHoodSwap's dream is to build a sustainable ecosystem where RBH tokens will be thought of the moment social good comes into the picture. In order to do so, RobinHoodSwap will continuously and tirelessly move from engaging with charitable organizations offline, to bringing them right smack into DeFi. Enabling seamless, borderless and transparent donations, and building a socially responsible ecosystem.

In the initial stages, as RobinHoodSwap kick starts, charities will be sourced, picked and vetted by the RobinHoodSwap team. This is done based on a theme that is decided for the month. E.g. charities focused on particular disabilities or illness awareness, charities that are focused on certain demographics, etc. As certain charities are close at heart to RobinHoodSwap's team, this will be the initial start as traction grows.

The next stage will be enabling charities from around the globe to get on-board RobinHoodSwap, and then allowing users to utilize RBH as a governance token to vote for the "Charity of the Month" to raise funds for. This would give RBH tokens much more meaning than just a vector in which users earn rewards from.
